Tribute concert to Bernardo Palombo
Friends and colleagues, we pay tribute to Bernardo Palombo (1948 - 2024), Argentine musician and poet born in Mendoza.
About Bernardo
Early, at the age of 17, the vocal group Los Trovadores recorded his song “Vendimiador”. In 1969 he emigrated to New York and years later he taught at the New School, Sarah Lawrence, Yeshiva University and the United Nations.
In 1979 he founded El Taller Latino Americano in New York where he developed a pedagogical and cultural work with adults and children. Artists such as Mercedes Sosa, Philip Glass, David Byrne, León Gieco, Atahualpa Yupanqui, Grupo Aymara, Pete Seeger, Luis Días and Larry Harlow, among others, have performed at the Workshop.
For its work, the Taller Latino received the Teachers College Independent Educator Award from Columbia University. He has also organized concerts and workshops on Latin American culture for institutions such as the Museum of Natural History in New York.
